About the Guys

I am reading an article in tonite's newspaper about Kevin Everett, the Buffalo Bills player who was seriously injured in the weekend Bill's game. He may never be able to walk. The article reads "For anyone who was there, it will be a scene forever burned in their memory: The sight of Everett's body lying motionless on the field, the medical personnel huddled around hm and -- before he was gingerly lifted onto a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance parked on the field -- the Bills gathering in a circle on their knees, saying a prayer for their teammate." I think of Doug, Jeff's teammates/buddies, Coach Whipple and the other two coaches...And I wonder how their lives have and are being impacted by Jeff's death. So young and so unprepared for this kind of tragedy. Not something that perhaps ever is forgotten.

I would like to help. Helping them would make me (and hopefully them) feel better.
